MEET CHIEF
PENLAND
From Buncombe County to the firehouse, Anthony Penland has dedicated his life to public service. Since 1990, he has been a part of the Swannanoa Volunteer Fire Department, wearing many hats from volunteer, full-time firefighter, treasurer, and since 2001, Chief.
For over 35 years, Anthony has worked to keep our community safe.
Now he's running to be your State Representative with a mission to fight for Western North Carolina as a fiscal conservative dedicated to public service.

REBUILDING WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA
CHIEF PENLAND'S FOCUS
During the Hurricane Helene recovery efforts, Chief Penland and the Swannanoa Volunteer Fire Department played a critical role in helping evacuate citizens, gaining assistance for the region through ongoing efforts, and clearing debris.

For days, Chief Penland slept on a cot in the firehouse, focused on ensuring that these small communities weren't left out and implementing a door-to-door project for his rescue teams left inaccessible by the hurricane impacts. Hurricane Helene left our community not just with flooding, but also fallen trees, downed power lines, washouts, and mudslides.
IN RALEIGH, CHIEF PENLAND WILL CONTINUE
TO ADVOCATE FOR AN INVESTMENT TO RESTORE WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA
Additional funding to repair damaged schools, municipal infrastructure, and roads.
An investment in preventative infrastructure development.
Funding for our frontline first responders and volunteer organizations.
